"Journey Home" and "Ange and the Boss"

I’ve just completed the score for a film called ‘Journey Home’, which could be described as documenting an epic grassroots state funeral for the great Yolnju actor David Gulpilil. For this soundtrack I recorded some wonderful songs with Jida Gulpilil, Yirrmal Marika, Miriam Ashley and re-worked some old recordings of the great man himself. Xani Kolac played some violin on the soundtrack which was brilliant. Xani of course played with MFTCC for a couple of years when Hope was on maternity leave. Xani’s career is kicking on brilliantly. She will be guesting at the Jazz lab launch of On Karen’s Piano on May 17th in Melbourne.
